Have You Ever Wondered

Have you ever wondered why they play "The Little Drummer Boy" so much?

Seriously, they play that song too damn much! It's not even the good version with Bing and David..it's the crap version. Yesterday, they played it, then played two different songs, and then played it again.

Memory...not a sound from the pavement...

Mat and I were relaxing on our new memory foam mattress pad and I said, “I love this memory foam because I can sleep on my stomach and it doesn’t hurt my boobs.”

He responded, “Really? Maybe they should have called it mammary foam.”

Ba da bum!

After 43 Years Stones Still Rolling

Yes, it is wonderful that they are still rocking and rolling after all these years but Zues knows time has not been kind...to any of them.

To drop or not to drop? That is the question.

Actors’ Equity Association: AEA is the union of professional actors and stage managers in the United States. I’ve been a member since January 2003. I joined so that I could stage manage my company’s shows. Why pay someone else to do something I was going to be doing anyway? So I joined. It worked out well and I always donated my earnings back to the company. If I hadn’t, the company would not have been able to continue operating. I was happy to do it because I believe offering work to Equity and non-Equity actors is a good thing. We had a very generous donor last fall that put us in a good financial position and I no longer need to SM and donate back for each show. As such, I hired one of the best SMs I’ve ever met. She is great and I haven’t had to SM a show since June 2004. May I just tell you how much I hate Stage Managing?! Anywho…so now my Equity card goes unused. I don’t audition for much around town anymore because I…well…I don’t know why…I just don’t. So I’m thinking of dropping the card. I’d like to have the option to do a show for fun at one of the fringe theatres around town. My priorities have changed. I love producing professional Equity theatre for young audiences, I love teaching all my drama classes, and I love singing Karaoke. Wait…that last one doesn’t really go with these ideas. Last year, BloodRay and I produced a show and remounted it two times because it was such a hit. Now, that was fun. If I hadn’t been Equity, it would have made things a lot easier. Anyway…so now I sit here pondering…to drop or not to drop? That is the question.

By the way…I’m still sick. Which of you out there is holding the voodoo doll of me causing me to be sick?

Post away

I removed the comments restriction so now anyone can post again. Hopefully the spammers will stay away.

In other news:
Thanks to "L" a frequent reader and poster, I am getting a bike! I'm so excited. I'm going to bring it to Lou2's brother's bike shop for a once over before I head out for my first ride, but I am really looking forward to it. BloodRay and I are going to go pick it up on Friday. Yeah!

I took Bean for a haircut at Cool Cuts 4 Kids. She loves it there and it's like bringing her somplace special. She probably played with all the toys for 20 minutes after her haircut was finished. Her hair is cut in a chin-length all the way around (now that her bangs have grown out). It's adorable, but she no longer looks like a baby, which makes me said.

I'm going back to bed. I'm still sick and tired.

Vigilant, Shaken + Stirred

Brother Rob and AngryBlackBitch are hosting a MoveOn vigil for Cindy Sheehan. Gather with us at AMP on Manchester at 7:30pm this Wednesday August 17. I'll be there and I hope you will consider attending as well.

Bed Head

I'm sick. I think there is a blogger illness that is making its rounds. First, Brother Rob, then ABB, followed by BloodRay and now me. I'm going back to bed. Check back tomorrow.

I’m watching the end of Beaches. Uhh! This movie makes me cry every time I see it. So…I’m sitting here crying over the death of their friendship, over the death of a little girl’s mommy, and over the fact that Bette Midler looks skinnier than me. Lawd! What is the world coming too?

I want to ride my bicycle. I want to ride my bike. I want to ride my bicycle. I want to ride it where I like.

I want a bike, but Mat says it would be a waste of our money and that I wouldn't ride it anyway. Does anyone have a bike that is unwanted? If so, I'll take it off your hands.
